Yalta update (conference etc) By Christine
Yalta update (conference etc) By Christine
It is hard to explain what exactly happened at this conference. I have spoken before at churches, youth groups, and retreats but I haven’t been the primary speaker at a conference before. It was both humbling and terrifying. I knew what the Lord was asking me to do, but I was also aware that it was truly beyond what I could do in my own strength and wisdom.
The first night was very difficult. It was like pushing through mud. The Lord made it clear what I was supposed to talk about. It was on “Hearing the Voice of God” and how that relates to understanding and receiving His love for us. In my own mind and understanding I was fighting this. Having some understanding of the kind of teaching that this church receives, I thought that this was really a waste of time and unnecessary. I am sure they had heard this all before. Well, guess who was wrong. They may have heard it before, although not everything that is taught or preached is for everyone in every season this was a word for some. After the teaching we had a time of silence before the Lord and when that happened, His presence came as a gentle breeze on the hearts of many.
The second nite was much better and there was a freedom there that hadn’t been there the nite before. The highlight of the evening was one guy who stood up to receive the Lord. He had been searching for God after losing his wife in childbirth. He also lost his child and was pretty devastated and looking for answers. He said “I have never heard anyone speak about God like this!”
He also had an incredible story about how he actually found the church. Someone sent him a text message on his phone giving him the address and the time of the meeting but no sender was identified, which never happens. He has no idea who sent him the message!
The third evening which was Friday nite we spoke about God’s heart for them, and their identity in Him. We also spoke of the tactics the enemy uses in robbing them about what they know to be true about this. We also stressed to them of just being and listening before the Lord.
Saturday morning which is their regular church service, we spoke on the ultimate sign of Love which was Jesus dying for us on the cross. We had an “activation” which was people crossing from the old to the new and death into life. People that wanted to leave their old beliefs behind came forward as a sign of “crossing over” into new life. It was a very powerful time and everyone received a blessing and blessed each other and we “sealed” it with communion. It really was a powerful time together and many people were weeping. Praise the Lord He always comes thru when we are obedient to Him. We do believe it will be a new time in many people’s lives.
The conference itself was a good experience for me and our team but it was not without struggles. The warfare was strong and overwhelming at times. There was a lot of fear and confusion that the enemy used to try to break down the team and stop what the Lord wanted to accomplish. As usual the Lord prevailed and not only had a plan to bring truth to the people of the church but also to us.
