Safely in the USA
Hello Everyone
Just wanted to let everyone know that we have safely arrived back in the States until sometime in the month of October. Those are our plans as of now. Our trip home was uneventful and probably one of the best in recent memory. We actually were able to sleep on the plane! (Must be getting old) Thanks to all of you for your prayers for the trip. We had our last meeting with our group and it was a good time of sharing and figuring out what the future might look like. Everyone seems to be ready for the next step. Only the Lord knows and we want to follow Him in that! Please continue to pray for us.
We attended church on Sunday and it was good to see so many of you again and try to reconnect in the short amount of time there. We are hoping to see many of you while we are “home” so please try to connect with us as we look forward to that very much. Our number is in the church directory and on our cards etc and it is David’s mom’s number which is 330-877-9700. If we are not there she will take a message for us and we will try to call back as soon as possible. Unfortunately we will not have a cell phone where we can be reached.
It was also good to see some of our friends from Ukraine in church also. Kostya and Vica from Yalta were there and Laryssa, whom many of you know was there also. They had just returned from visiting Lakeland Florida. Interesting to see our friends from Ukraine in America.
We would like to especially request prayer for Christine’s Mom, Chris.
She fell just before we got home and broke her foot. Given her medical condition this is a very serious situation. She is currently in a local nursing home getting therapy and receiving the care that we cannot give her at her apartment. She needs assistance with everything rite now as she is not able to put any weight on the foot that she broke and she is not strong enough to support herself with a walker but is only able to get around in a wheelchair. So please pray that we would make the rite decisions for her care and that she would heal quickly. One of the very serious outcomes of this fall is an infection in her leg which could have very bad consequences.
We have many plans and we pray that the Lord would provide the opportunities we feel we need to reconnect and have a time of restoration for ourselves. It is hard to explain how ministry seems to take so much out of you. Sometimes it is so surprising how tired you get and how you need restored.
Thank you for your prayers
David and Christine
